FREYjA (aka Rebecca Rennie), Australian singer/ songwriter/ poet is currently based between Paris & London. Her 3rd album This Girl which was produced by Chris Cody, will be launched in Paris & London later this year. THIS GIRL was recorded at Acousti Studios in Paris and includes “franco-anglo” renditions of Gainsbourg and Brel songs, jazz standards and as always, Rebecca’s own original songs. It is now available at FNAC

FREYjA has previously launched 2 CDs on the international market, FREYjA with Rebecca Rennie & The Siren’s Odyssey (distributed nationwide thru MGM) which has enjoyed much airplay on radio nationwide.

FREYjA won Best Artist in two categories at the Music Oz Awards 2002 Best Jazz Artist & Best Performer (see awards page)

FREYjA performed two concerts at Montreux Festval 2000 amongst many other concerts throughout her European tour, including the Australian Retrospective, Rome.She currently performs regularly in Paris (Bilboquet, Sunside Sunset, Scene Bastille, Showcase...)

Woodford Festival 2001, a little closer to home, was an awesome success. The biggest folk festival in the Southern Hemisphere & FREYjA was touted the Star of the festival 2001.

In June 2002 Rebecca sang La Marseillaise at Stadium Australia to an audience of 61,000 live & millions around the world for the Rugby Union match Australia versus France.

Rebecca is a NIDA graduate who has worked extensively on stage (including Sydney Theatre Company at the Sydney Opera House), on television & in film. She has also completed her BA Communications during which Rebecca completed her AMEB Classical Piano Studies.

Her songs appear in Peter Duncan's movie Hell Has Harbour Views

She is currently recording 30 new, original songs for her next two albums. Having moved away from Jazz she is now working in a lo-fi, pop, folk style.

The Cat is Fishing will be released in 2009. After which FREYjA & Mykey's co-written project will be completed & released

FREYjA is always searching for sponsors/ benefactors/ publishers/ labels to invest in her artistic projects
